Au Deuxième est fier de faire partie de En Avril 2012!

L’atelier d’artiste vous invite à ses portes ouvertes samedi et dimanche, le 14 et 15 avril 2012. Au menu: portes ouvertes des ateliers de plus de 7 artistes, expositions de leurs oeuvres et ateliers d’impression textile!

Les ateliers se donneront en francais et en Anglais. Les ateliers d’impressions sont sous l’échange de contributions modiques 5$ qui nous rendent possible la fourniture du materiel. Nous vous suggeront aussi d’emmener vos propres sac reutilisables ou tissus pour en faire des items uniques!

Veuillez noter que les places des ateliers sont comptées, nous vous suggérons donc de réserver votre place avec nous par email au audeuxieme@gmail.com

Heures d’ouverture du studio:
Samedi de 12h à 19h * Atelier d’impression à 14h, 16h, et 18h
On vous montrera les bases d’impression par bloc (xylographie), pochoir et sérigraphie.

Dimanche de 12h à 19h * Atelier de shibori à 14h
On travaillera en teinture, avec colorants naturels.

Au Deuxième is proud to take part of En Avril 2012!

The studio invites you to our open house on Saturday and Sunday the 14th and 15th of April 2012! On the menu: open doors to the studio of more than 7 artists, exhibition of artworks and printing workshop on fabric!

Workshops will be held both in french and english. We recommand a fee of 5$ to cover the cost of our material. We also invite you to bring your own fabric or recycled bag to make exclusive pieces!

Because places are counted, we recommand you to schedule the hour you wish to do the workshop with us through email at audeuxieme@gmail.com

Studio opening hours:
Saturday from 12 to 7 pm * printing workshop at 2, 4, and 6 o’clock.
We’ll show you the principles of basic block printing, paper stencils and silk-screening

Sunday from 12 to 7 pm * Shibori workshop at 2pm
We will work with dyeing, using natural dyes.

This event is BYOB, but we’ll have refreshments available, too. We will also provide some Cool Snacks.

If you’re still hesitating, think on this:

• When displayed in someone else’s house or office, your artwork is actually working for you. When it’s sitting in a box … not so much!
• You never know where people are gonna end up. The friend’s piece you acquire in a trade today could end up being your retirement fund tomorrow.
• Heck, everybody loves getting new art, right?

Merci à Katie Jung pour son don d’une surjeteuse industrielle!

La machine est maintenant installée au studio, nous attendons avec impatience que l’équipe « surjeteuse » trouve les indications du fonctionnement et du maintient. Le tout devrait être fonctionnel dans moins de deux semaines!

Thanks to Katie Jung for lending us a beautiful industrial serger!

Team “serger” is now looking up for indications on how to set up and maintain the well being of the machine. It should be up running in less than two weeks!

Première impression! / First print!

La fin du mois d’octobre arrive et l’accomplissement de nos projets pour le mois aussi!

La chambre noire pour la sérigraphie est maintenant complètement installée et aujourd’hui, nous avons procédé à nos premiers tests d’impression. Malgré le gel de notre

émulsion, le tout fonctionne à merveille et est d’une couleur magnifique!

The end of October is arriving and with it comes the accomplishment of our plans!

The dark room for screen printing is now fully installed and today we made our first test print. Despite the freezing of our emulsion, all works great and is a great color!
